Hi, I’m Mike Jackson.

I spent over two decades ministering to students on college campuses, sharing the gospel with them and guiding many to find saving faith in Jesus Christ. During that time, I led a team of others who regularly evangelized and trained others in how to share their faith with their friends. My prayer was that as these college students graduated, they would continue their regular practice of evangelism in their neighborhoods and workplaces.

However, there was one problem that often caught my attention: many people who had shared the gospel a great deal as students had quit evangelizing people after they graduated.

The graduates I had worked with already knew how to share the gospel. Many of them had even led fellow students to Christ. They could have given the seminar on how to share the gospel. The problem wasn’t that they didn’t know how to share the gospel, the problem was that they weren’t doing it.

This began to shift the way I thought about how to help churches with their evangelism. My trainings had always focused on helping Christians deal with the barriers that non-Christian have. But, the more fundamental barriers are those that prevent Christians from sharing the gospel with their friends in the first place. If those can’t be overcome, then the barriers their non-Christian friends have will never be addressed.

I realized that if Christians began to overcome their own barriers and began sharing the gospel:

  • The Christians themselves would greatly benefit.

  • Their churches would greatly benefit.

  • Many of their non-Christian friends would eternally benefit.

  • Over time, as they spread the gospel throughout their communities, these communities would be transformed.

I started Your Jerusalem in order to help churches spark a sustained movement of evangelism by equipping Christians to evangelize their friends. We are a 501c3 organization that, through coaching, consulting, resources, and training, helps churches evangelize their communities, their Jerusalem (Acts 1:8).
